On May 2, 2012 the NEW JOBS PAC held its 26th Annual South Jersey Legislative Reception at the Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees, NJ. The room was packed with nearly 200 attendees. The event was chaired by: Keith Langan, Executive Vice President, Surety Title Company LLC; Nichole LoPresti, Vice President, Tonio Burgos & Associates, Inc.; and Daniel J. Statile, Vice President and General Manager, NuStar Paulsboro Refinery. A large number of legislators attended this fantastic event including: Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick (R-21) and Majority Leader Louis Greenwald (D-6), Assemblyman John Burzichelli (D-3), Assemblyman Robert Clifton (R-12), Assemblyman Herb Conaway (D-7 ), Assemblyman Angel Fuentes (D-5), Assemblywoman Pam Lampitt (D-6), Assemblyman Paul Moriarty (D-4), Assemblywoman Gabriela Mosquera (D-4), Assemblyman David Rible (R-30), Assemblywoman Celeste Riley (D-3), Assemblyman Troy Singleton (D-7), Assemblyman “Whip” Wilson (D-5), Senator Jim Beach (D-6), Senator Fred Madden (D-4), and Senator Donald Norcross (D-5).

It was another great event that clearly demonstrates that NEW JOBS gives you the biggest bang for your buck. Nowhere else will you be able to network with a large number of key legislators as well as the State’s most prominent business leaders at a single event. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success. See photos from the event.

Message from the NEW JOBS team:

We want to thank you for your support last year and ask that you continue that support in 2012. In 2011, NEW JOBS contributed $400,000 to legislative candidates and incumbent legislators. That was a NEW JOBS record, and it could not have happened without the support of people like you.

However, now is NOT the time to rest on our laurels. We MUST maintain the momentum. And with your support, we will!

If you have yet to participate in a NEW JOBS event, think about this: anti-business entities have PACs that support their interests. They advocate for higher taxes on business, unnecessary regulatory burdens, higher fees and fines, and more government intrusion into your business. This is what makes New Jersey so unfriendly to business. In short, they lobby for anti-business measures to support their agendas at the expense of business. Don't let them drown out your voice.

We are on a new path and there are pro-business legislators who understand the hurdles you face every day. We support both Republicans and Democrats who strive to make New Jersey a better place to own and operate your business. Having said that, this is an ongoing battle that must be fought in each and every election cycle. To fight that battle, NEW JOBS endorses pro-business candidates and incumbent legislators. We have fundraisers that provide you with quality "face-time" with those legislators. And for those of you who contribute $5,000 or more, we provide intimate events with legislative leadership... those who set the agenda in the Legislature.

Even though this is a non-election year, we must continue to raise funds to support the aforementioned pro-business candidates and incumbent legislators. Our goal is to raise enough money in 2012 and 2013 to contribute half a million dollars in the next legislative election. Imagine that. Yourpurchase of a ticket, sponsorship of one of our events, or President's Club contribution, will get us to our goal of hitting the $500,000 mark. That is a GREAT return on investment!

And when you participate in a NEW JOBS event, tell your legislators that you give to New Jersey's most influential pro-business PAC. They will not only be impressed, but they will thank you for your support.

Let's continue the progress we made in 2011, and help us to make sure that New Jersey's business climate continues to improve because we, collectively, are supporting pro-business legislators that understand that taxes are too high, government is too intrusive, and regulatory burdens need to be eased. A calendar of events will be available soon. If you have any questions, please contact me at dbrogan@newjobspac.com or our Deputy Executive Director Stefanie Riehl at sriehl@newjobspac.com. Also, check out our frequently asked questions.

Sincerely,

David Brogan, Executive Director
